Helping Moms and Babies for Mother's Day
WHITE PLAINS, NY, May 6, 2002 — What better way to make "Mom" happy this Mother's Day than through a generous donation to the March of Dimes in her name at the Kmart bookmark/sneaker promotion now under way at Kmart stores across the country?
Thousands of Kmart customers and associates have already joined in the fight to save babies, donating their time and dollars to participate in the annual Kmart fund raiser. As the top WalkAmerica team in the nation, Kmart associates and customers have raised more than $33 million for the March of Dimes in the past 17 years.
“Kmart is a very strong supporter of the March of Dimes, both through associate and customer participation,” said James B. Adamson, Chairman and C.E.O., Kmart Corporation. “We really endorse the March of Dimes approach in that contributions raised support the communities where they are donated."
At Kmart stores nationwide, the bookmarks and sneakers will be available for $1 through Mother’s Day, May 12. One hundred percent of the dollars raised through the bookmark/sneaker promotion and other in-store fund-raisers will be donated to the March of Dimes.
