WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Sept. 27, 2007 -- March of Dimes National Ambassador Ezekiel “Zeek” Taylor and his family are featured front and center today on the home page of YouTube.com, as YouTube debuts its a new Non-Profit Program. The new program makes it easier for people to find and watch videos from, and engage with, charities such as the March of Dimes.
The March of Dimes, as one of the YouTube Non-Profit Program participants, received a premium channel on YouTube that serves as a hub for our uploaded videos. Through this channel, people can connect with the March of Dimes via messages, subscriptions, comments, and more. There is also an embedded Google Checkout donation button on our channel and video watch pages that allows people to make a contribution directly to the March of Dimes from YouTube.
“Video, unlike any other medium, allows non-profits to give a tangible demonstration of their efforts, connect with people and exponentially widen their reach,” says Doug Staples, Senior Vice President of Strategic Marketing & Communications for the March of Dimes. “We are excited to be an initial participant in the program. We'll use our YouTube channel to reach out to audiences of all ages and engage them in our mission, which is to give every baby a healthy start.”
