Former CBS Early Show Anchor, Jane Clayson Will Host Podcast
WHITE PLAINS, NY, SEPT. 11, 2007 For moms-to-be and busy moms on the go, a new series of podcasts launched today by the March of Dimes delivers insightful tips on pregnancy, baby health, and nutrition, as well as answers to the questions every mother needs to know.
March of Dimes & You Champion for Babies is a one-on-one interview series hosted by award-winning journalist Jane Clayson, whose own son William was born 13 weeks prematurely. His fragile beginnings ignited Jane's passion for providing other moms with the tools they need to help give their babies a healthy start in life.
For decades, the March of Dimes has been a leading source for pregnancy and newborn health information, said Dr. Jennifer L. Howse, president of the March of Dimes. We're excited to bring our knowledge to the web via podcast and a new internet-generation of moms.
Each month, a new podcast episode brings together the latest research on maternal and child care with educational and timely information for parents who are planning, expecting, or raising a baby.
The first in the series features an exclusive interview with special guest and new mom, Nancy O'Dell, host of NBC's Access Hollywood. O'Dell shares the story of her pregnancy, expectations, and the joys of her newborn baby girl Ashby, as well as why she volunteers for the March of Dimes.
Throughout the series, listeners can also expect to learn about myths on pregnancy and nutrition, steps to a healthy pregnancy and top-of-mind pregnancy health information.
The March of Dimes is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defect, premature birth, and infant mortality. Founded in 1938, the March of Dimes funds programs of research, community services, education, and advocacy and in 2003 launched a multi-year campaign to address the increasing rate of premature birth.
