Carol Evans Dances with Star Tom Bergeron

NEW YORK, DECEMBER 7, 2006 -- Tom Bergeron, host of ABC-TV's Dancing with the Stars, and a National Celebrity Spokesperson for the March of Dimes, dances a fanciful tango with Carol Evans, CEO and Founder of Working Mother Media, at the 9th Annual Chairman's Club Dinner held here.  Ms. Evans, a member of the March of Dimes Board of Trustees, was being honored by the Board for her long-time dedication to the March of Dimes mission to save babies from premature birth and other causes of death and serious disability.  Her own son, who is now a freshman in college, was born six weeks prematurely.  Mr. Bergeron served as the emcee of the event.

The March of Dimes is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.  Founded in 1938, the March of Dimes funds programs of research, community services, education, and advocacy to save babies and in 2003 launched a campaign to address the increasing rate of premature birth.  For more information, visit the March of Dimes Web site at marchofdimes.com or its Spanish language Web site at nacersano.org.
