New NEJM Letter Says Statins May Cause Birth Defects

What: A new study featured as a letter in the April 7, 2004 edition of the New England Journal of Medicine suggests that the use of statins during the first trimester of pregnancy may affect the central nervous system and limb formation of the unborn fetus.  Talk with March of Dimes medical director Dr. Nancy Green and find out why this study is important to the non-profit whose mission is to make sure that all babies are born healthy and on time.
