To the Editor:
Premature birth is the number one killer of newborns and a major cause of serious health problems. It costs society billions of dollars. Nearly half a million babies are born prematurely every year, and the number is rising.
That is why the March of Dimes is leading a national effort to save babies from premature birth. The organization is funding research to find the causes and supporting local programs that offer hope and help to families with a premature baby in intensive care.
Visit www.marchofdimes.com/prematurity and find out what you can to help prevent premature birth. You can show your support by wearing wristbands and ribbons, sending e-mails and letters, and raising funds. Help give all babies their nine months. To learn more, visit marchofdimes.com/prematurity.
Sincerely,
(YOUR NAME)
(YOUR BUSINESS OR COMMUNITY AFFILIATION)
