March for Babies is the new name for WalkAmerica. While the name has changed, our mission has not. The money raised through March for Babies will support lifesaving research, community services, education and advocacy that help babies get a healthy start.

Invite friends, family, co-workers or classmates to team up with you to raise funds and join other dedicated volunteers in front of the Arizona State Capitol for a beautiful four-mile walk through historic Phoenix and a great post-walk celebration with food, music, a Kids Zone and much more!

Because you wanted to give even more…

Many of our walkers have suggested that we use funds for incentive gifts you’ve received in the past to give more to moms and babies instead.  You’ve told us that the greatest prize you could receive is the satisfaction of knowing you have had a direct impact on helping a family.

So this year, we’ve teamed up with the Arizona’s Children Association and Kmart to give families in need the supplies they need when they have a newborn. 

Walkers who raise $200 or more will still receive T-shirts – and walkers who raise $350 or more will receive a T-shirt and sweatshirt.

When you raise $500 or more, a donation will be made to a family in your county identified by the Arizona’s Children Association. 

Here are a few examples of how we’ll use funds you raise:

$10,000 and above
3 families in need will receive a car seat, high chair, baby monitor, one case of diapers, a newborn starter set and a diaper bag.

$2,500  - $4,999
1 family in need will receive a car seat, one case of diapers, a newborn starter set and a diaper bag.

$1,000  - $2,499
1 family in need will receive a newborn starter set and a diaper bag.

Register online and raise $1,000 or more for March for Babies and your name will be entered in a drawing to win two roundtrip tickets to anywhere Continental Airlines flies (except Hawaii), including Canada, Mexico, Central America or the Caribbean! 

To be entered in the drawing, funds must be received at the March of Dimes Arizona Chapter by Friday, May 30, 2008 at 5 pm.   All walkers over 18 years of age are eligible to win.

Drawing will be held on June 2, 2008 and winner will be notified by mail.
