  TITLE: Administrative Assistant (F/T)

REPORTS TO: State Special Events Director

LOCATION: Chicago, IL

REASON FOR OPENING: Replacement

POSITION PURPOSE:
To meet the special events administrative responsibilities in a chapter environment.  The candidate will assist special event personnel with typing, design layouts, data entry, mailings, record keeping, telephone calls, correspondence and other responsibilities associated with volunteers, office staff, and the general public.

 



POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Write and type correspondence, letters, reports, memos, minutes, new releases, etc. 
  • Design flyers, auction displays, newsletters for special events.
  • Data entry. Maintain mailing lists and special event databases.
  • Auction procurement letters.
  • Support Special Events Coordinators in event preparation and be able to attend special events (some nights and weekends).
  • Answer telephone calls, respond to requests for routine information or refer to appropriate staff.
  • Prepare, photocopy and collate materials and reports.
  • Maintain office supplies and inventory.

 



QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • High School diploma or better with some verbal and writing skills required.
  • 1-2 years of experience
  • High level computer skills – MS Office, Illustrator, Publisher
