TITLE: Division Director/State Director of March for Babies
REPORTS TO: State Director
LOCATION: Norwalk, CT
REASON FOR OPENING: Replacement
POSITION PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for directing and overseeing all aspects of March for Babies including planning, implementation, goal setting, and analysis. In addition, this position serves as the director of the southern division of the March of Dimes Chapter and the liaison between March of Dimes (MOD), its volunteers and the local community.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop overall plan and implementation for March for Babies including income and expense budgets for event.
- Working as part of a team and individually, successfully sell and manage Chapter sponsorship opportunities ranging from $1,000-$100,000.
- Working as part of a team and individually, ensure the successful recruitment of volunteer revenue leadership throughout Chapter with direct responsibility to metro and/or key walksites.
- Manage Division office and supervise 2 full time professionals.
- Lead Division Volunteer Revenue Committee that oversees fundraising, volunteer leadership development and strategic planning.
- Recruit and develop new teams and existing teams for a coordinated Teamwalk.
- Train Chapter and division volunteers and staff in all aspects of March for Babies.
- Ensure Chapter follows minimum standards and properly implements March for Babies Core Tactics.
- Annually evaluate all aspects of Chapter March for Babies results, volunteer development/recruitment needs, etc.
- Work with program staff and volunteers to ensure that every event contains program content to enhance the knowledge of the audience and general public regarding the March of Dimes mission, programs and Prematurity Campaign.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 3-5 years of fundraising experience, event planning, corporate sponsorship recruitment.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, sales and marketing, volunteer and staff management, problem solving, planning, implementation, organization, leadership skills.
- Detail oriented, adaptable, organized and able to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks
- Good computer skills, especially Word and Excel
