POSITION PURPOSE:
To manage the accounting of Federal, State, External Program, Foundations and Corporate Grants and work with Program Managers at across the Foundation to accurately report on grant activities.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage Grant Accounting to ensure delivery of accurate reporting of Grant activities. Custodian of all grant agreements.
Preparation for A-133 Federal Audit to comply with Federal regulations required for acceptance of grant funds.
Review with Program Managers, grant activities are in compliance to grant terms and federal cost principles. Monitor sub recipient grantees compliance to awarded contracts.
Train Program managers on review of financial activities to empower program managers to understand and be able to convey financial activities to granting institutions.
Prepare Financial Reports to Federal and External Institutions to comply with contractual and regulatory obligations.
Prepare Billings, reimbursement requests or fund draw downs to granting institutions.
Work closely with Program or Grant managers on budgets and expenses forecasts in Grant applications, including writing narratives for Granting institutions on application of accounting principles or controls for management of the grant.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
8-10 years of related experience
Experience with Federal Office of Management and Budget Circular A-133 Audits of Federal Grants, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal Forms, Form 269 Financial Status Report, Form 272 Federal Cash Transaction Report, Federal Payment Management System (PMS).
Proficient computer experience in JD Edwards/Oracle World accounting system and MS Office including strong Word and Excel skills.
Federal Grant application or Request for Proposal response preparation.
Strong and proven project management experience; ability to set and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills; ability to build highly effective working relationships across the Foundation. Ability to train and work well with others is critical.
