  TITLE: Director, National Youth Program

REPORTS TO: Director, Volunteer Promotions and Special Programs

LOCATION: White Plains, NY

REASON FOR OPENING: Replacement

POSITION PURPOSE:
Lead efforts to ensure youth involvement in chapters and national initiatives in order to achieve foundation objectives related to increasing mission awareness, revenue growth, and volunteer leadership.  Collaborate with internal and external partners, staff and volunteers, to create, modify, and execute strategic objectives of the youth program.  Conceptualize, create and oversee the implementation of foundation initiatives among existing and new national partners – non-profit clubs and organizations as well as for profit corporate partners.  Identify and secure funding from external sources, including foundation grants and corporate sponsorship, and manage ongoing relationships.  Convene and oversee the March of Dimes National Youth Health Education Advisory Committee, act as foundation liaison to national organizations represented on the committee, implement the recommendations of the advisory committee by producing content-appropriate, peer-reviewed, multi-media, updated youth health education materials.  Create and implement strategic marketing and business plans for all new products developed through the National Youth Program.  Supervise Youth Program staff and oversee the activities of the National Youth Council.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee the National Youth Program
  • Expand the visibility of and involvement in the National Youth Program
  • Convene and train diverse array of youth volunteer leaders
  • Support chapters in youth volunteer outreach efforts
  • Seek corporate sponsorship for youth program activities


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8-10 years experience of working in a nonprofit and/or with youth
  • Knowledge of social marketing techniques and ability to develop and implement pre- and post-program evaluations on national and local levels.
  • Familiarity with internet privacy policies as they pertain to marketing to youth online.
  • Experienced in staff, volunteer and leadership development.  Strategic planner.
  • Track record of exceeding goals, developing and managing corporate relationships and community-based activities.
  • Experienced communicator, product manager.  Demonstrated public speaking skills and experience.
