TITLE: Manager, Informatics Research and Development
REPORTS TO: Director, Perinatal Data Center
LOCATION: White Plains, NY

POSITION PURPOSE:
Conducts data analyses addressing relevant and timely perinatal health issues. Manages activities related to the development of new information management systems and products that support the Perinatal Data Center goal of translating technical information for use by perinatal health professionals and consumers. Assist in updating and maintaining content on the March of Dimes PeriStats Web site. Manages existing and assists with the acquisition of new informatics related grants.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct research analyses that contribute to the March of Dimes knowledge base and the maternal and infant health literature. Share findings through publications in peer reviewed journals and presentations at health professional conferences.
Manage, maintain, promote and enhance Perinatal Data Center information systems and PeriStats Web site.
Devise and implement strategies for developing new information management systems to support Perinatal Data Center priority areas and collaborations within the Office of the Medical Director, with other March of Dimes departments and with external partner organizations that strengthen access to and dissemination of perinatal data.
Conduct training of health professionals and March of Dimes staff and volunteers, on the use of the PeriStats Web site and perinatal data analyses and research. Provide support and technical assistance to March of Dimes staff and volunteers and external health professionals on the use and interpretation of perinatal data.
Manage Perinatal Data Center interns.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Master’s degree
5-7 years of experience
Proficiency in database and information management systems development
Proficiency in SPSS and/or SAS. Knowledge of SQL Server and HTML a plus
Experience with website development
Familiarity with basic epidemiologic research and statistical methods
Experience with grant writing
Communicates effectively both in writing and verbally
