  TITLE: “Share Your Story” Community Coordinator (P/T)

REPORTS TO: “Share Your Story” Community Host

LOCATION: White Plains, NY

REASON FOR OPENING: New Position

POSITION PURPOSE:
Provides guidance, facilitation and management to the growing online community, “Share Your Story”.  It involves moderating postings, planning for and supporting growth among Spanish language members, and support for annual conference of members.  This position may require time on the website 7 days a week, for a total of a 20-hour work week, including weekend days on a regular basis.

This position will be located in the NICU Family Support Division of the National Office, White Plains, NY, or a telecommuting position with quarterly travel to the National Office.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for helping moderate the site, posting and cross-linking to answers to routine queries on a broad range of topics, referring specific topics for research and posting to others as designated; ensuring that content issues and opportunities are addressed.
  • Responsible for helping to promote, grow, moderate and support Spanish-language members of the community. 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to build, strengthen and grow the community, including supporting chapter and national plans to promote and track Spanish-language participants.
  • Assist in tracking membership, providing regular reports and preparing presentations.


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience with 2 to 4 years directly related work experience.
  • Spanish language fluency required.
  • Progressively responsible experience, Health Education or related/NICU experience, a plus.
  • Experience or keen understanding of March of Dimes mission and work with NICU Families, comfortable and capable working with sensitive and emotional situations and stories daily.
  • Experience working with volunteers.  Enthusiasm for online communities and community management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, team-oriented to meet March of Dimes and community needs.  Ability to work independently.  Willingness to work primarily with people at a distance (little in-person interaction with community).
  • Flexible in terms of time/hours of work (weekend days on a regular basis).
  • Ability to travel 5% of the time.
  • Ability to assist with management events related to Share members (ShareUnion).
  • Technical requirements include proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel and web-based administrative tools.  Willingness to undertake/learn web-based tools, if not presently known.
