  Dr. Nancy Green Named Medical Director of March of Dimes

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., JUNE 10, 2002—Nancy S. Green, M.D., associate professor of pediatrics and assistant professor of cell biology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City, has been appointed medical director of the March of Dimes, it was announced today.

Dr. Green will oversee the medical and scientific basis for the programs of the March of Dimes.

“Dr. Green brings outstanding expertise in both pediatric medicine and research to this position,” said Dr. Jennifer L. Howse, president of the March of Dimes. “We look forward to her leadership in achieving our mission to improve infant health.”

Dr. Green received her undergraduate degree in chemistry magna cum laude from Tufts University in Massachusetts and her medical degree from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons.  She was a Fulbright Scholar in 1986-87. She did her clinical training in pediatrics and pediatric hematology-oncology at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, Babies Hospital, New York, followed by a post-doctoral fellowship in the Department of Cell Biology, Albert Einstein College of Medicine.  She is board certified in pediatrics and in pediatric hematology-oncology and has a New York State medical license.

Dr. Green is also attending physician in pediatric hematology-oncology at Montefiore Hospital, and served as acting medical director for the March of Dimes.

She is a member of the American Association of Immunology, American Society of Hematology, and is a Council member of the Eastern Society of Pediatric Research. She has published numerous papers on topics in pediatric hematology, oncology and immunology.
