NBC Today Show Highlights WalkAmerica

Matt, Katie and Al at 30 Rockefeller Plaza

NEW YORK, APRIL 27, 2006
- Matt Lauer, Katie Couric and Al Roker stand in front of the cameras and March of Dimes WalkAmerica volunteers dressed in pink and blue at 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. Later in the program, Al highlighted the important work the March of Dimes does to give every baby a healthy start. WalkAmerica is the March of Dimes biggest fundraiser and takes place in nearly 1,100 communities across the country during the last weekend of April.

– Al Roker, of NBC's Today Show, chats on-air with March of Dimes Carolyn Pizzuto about this weekend's upcoming WalkAmerica. Volunteers from WalkAmerica sponsors Kmart, CIGNA, FedEx, Famous Footwear, Farmers Insurance, Continental Airlines and the Grain Foods Foundation drew enough attention to our group so that Al knew all about the walk that saves babies. WalkAmerica will take place in nearly 1,100 communities across the country April 29 and 30.
