March of Dimes Prematurity Awareness Month Subject of Live Online Chat

March of Dimes Prematurity Awareness Day (Nov. 15) and Month (November) will be the subject of a live chat to be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. (ET) Monday, Nov. 14 on Pregnancy.org. Doug Staples, March of Dimes Senior Vice President, Strategic Marketing & Communications, will discuss the campaign and its goals. More than 100 landmarks nationwide – including the top of Hoover Dam in Nevada and a replica of the Apollo Saturn V Rocket at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama – will be lit pink and blue as the March of Dimes observes the third Annual Prematurity Awareness Day. In New York City, pink and blue Prematurity Awareness Day buses will travel the city with celebrities, civic and corporate leaders and maternal and child health experts – making stops at key locations to talk about the dangers of prematurity. In 2003, the March of Dimes launched a multi-year, multi-million dollar campaign to address the increasing rate of premature birth, which now affects almost 500,000 babies a year. To join in the chat, visit Pregnancy.org and click "chat live now.'' Follow the directions and you will be able to join the chat in a few minutes.
